His eclectic artistic career (symphony orchestras, variety orchestras, military bands, etc.) has given him a keen interest in arranging and composing. He is co-founder of the Chapeu l’artiste association and musical groups such as Souds-Doués. His link with the circus starts with the Bouglione circus tour in France (2015-18), consolidates with the Circus Arts Foundation productions and crystallizes with the position of orchestra conductor of the legendary Cirque d’Hiver.

Patrick Rosseel

Show ruler

Considered by the professional sector as one of the best circus managers in Europe, Patrick perfectly masters the management of the myriad details that make up the complex clockwork machinery of a large-scale circus show: lighting, sound, effects, parades, etc. For a quarter of a century, he was the manager of the Knie Circus and the Stuttgart Christmas Circus. It is no coincidence that some of the leading circus shows of our time bear his signature: the Golden Elephant Festival, the Pastelito Circus, the Christmas circuses of Girona, Düsseldorf, and Mönchengladbach, and Circus Nights.

Genís Matabosch

Presenter

Doctorate in Art History from the University of Barcelona and diploma from the National Heritage Institute in Paris. President of the Circus Arts Foundation, director of the Golden Elephant International Circus Festival in Girona, the Great Christmas Circus in Girona, Circus Nights, and the large Circusland museum in Besalú. He has one of the largest collections of circus documentation in the world. Artistic director of shows: ‘Euroclowns’ (1998-2008), ‘Estrellas del Circo’ (2007 and 2010), ‘Gay Circus’ (2008), ‘Circ Charlie Rivel’ (2015 and 2018) and ‘Super Circus’ (2015). Regular member of the juries at the world’s leading circus festivals.

Bertrand Guay

Photographer (Guest)

He has been a photographer for Agence France Presse for over thirty years. In 1991, he discovered the world of the circus while reporting on the Festival Mondial du Cirque de Demain in Paris, and since then he has documented shows by Cirque d’Hiver Bouglione, Big Apple Circus, and Roncalli. For Telmondis, he covered the Monte Carlo Festival for eleven years, as well as the Demain and Massy festivals. He collaborates with Genís Matabosch on Euroclowns, Charlie Rivel, the Cirque de Nadal in Girona, and Elefant d’Or. His images illustrate magazines such as El Circo del Universo, Circo Zeitung, De pista, and Revista de fotografía de circo.

Vania Masías

Vania is an artistic director, dancer, and social entrepreneur. She is an Ashoka Fellow, ambassador for the PERU brand, and a Young Global Leader for the World Economic Forum. Recognized as an Amauta by the Ministry of Education and an illustrious citizen of Lima, she has been highlighted among the most innovative Peruvians and the most influential women in Latin America.
